This program allows you to define, solve, and play pentominoes puzzles.

Windows version only: XP, 2000, 98, NT, etc.  Some program features are restricted in this free shareware version, although the full features are enabled via registration.  The restricted features are that puzzles and solutions cannot be loaded and saved, only certain puzzles can be computer solved, and you cannot create graphic solutions files.

If you experience a windows overlap when running the program, download this version of the program (after installing the full version) and use it instead.

To download and install the program (free):

  1. Click on the link above to copy a self-extracting compressed file named ZippedPentominoes.exe to your hard drive (choose "save to disk" if given a choice).

  2. Once it has downloaded, run that file to extract 3 additional files: Setup.exe, Readme.txt, and MBInstall.bin. Notice where WinZip puts these files, since you'll need to be able to locate them in step 3.

  3. Finally, run Setup.exe to install the game and several support files.  The game itself will be named MB Pentominoes.exe.  See the program's Help topics for further instructions.

To uninstall the program:

This installation does not write anything to the registry or otherwise ingratiate itself to Windows.  To uninstall, simply delete the installation folder and all its files.

To register the program:

There is a $10 shareware registration required to enable all the program's features, a gesture of support for the starving programmer.  See the comments above for the differences between the unregistered and registered versions.

PayPal (eBay credit card processing) transactions may be used for registration.  After payment is verified, you will receive an email containing your serial number and password.  Once these are entered into the program, all features will be enabled from then on.

The starving programmer thanks you for your kindness.
